Rare Pozzi Pamplona Dining Set attributed to Augusto Savini – 6 Chairs & Extendable Table, Italy, circa 1970

Rare Italian dining set manufactured by Pozzi “Le Sedie” in Mariano Comense, circa 1969/1970. The complete set consists of six sculptural armchairs and the corresponding extendable dining table.

The chair design is attributed to Augusto Savini and closely associated with his iconic “Pamplona” series. Each chair features a black lacquered wooden frame combined with its original petrol-blue leather upholstery.

This set presents a rarely documented execution with understated rear connections rather than the prominent exterior metal plates found on many other Pamplona examples. Two of the six chairs retain their original Pozzi “Le Sedie – Made in Italy” manufacturer’s labels. The other four chairs are identical in construction, materials and provenance and belong to the same original dining suite.

The round dining table features a black wooden tabletop measuring 120 cm in diameter. It is supported by two sculptural metal bases, which are positioned together and securely screwed to the underside of the tabletop. The table can be extended using two matching extension leaves, both of which are included in the offer.

The complete set remains in authentic, unrestored vintage condition. The black lacquered chair frames show age-related wear, particularly around the armrests and edges, including scratches, rubbing and areas of lacquer loss. The original leather upholstery displays scratches, pressure marks and minor signs of use. The table also shows signs of age and use consistent with its vintage character.
